The Collins Leeds Method is a commonly used tool for clustering your DNA matches based on the Leeds Method. To get started, you need to do the following:

- install the DNAGedcom Client
- gather your data
- use the Collins Leeds Method (CLM) tool
Below are detailed steps for each part of this process. The result is a CLM chart.
Installing the DNAGedcom Client

- Go to https://www.dnagedcom.com
- Create an account & log in.
- Click on the “?” in the upper right corner.
- Go to “Getting Started” under “DNAGedcom Client” and choose the installer for Windows or Mac.
- Click on the “Installer” for either Windows or Mac.
- Follow the steps to install.
After installing the DNAGedcom Client, you need to have the Client gather your data.
Gathering Data

- Launch DNAGedcom Client from your dashboard or start menu.
- Log in with your DNATedcom login.
- Review the folder where your files are stored on the “Home” page. If you wish to change this, choose “Settings.”
- Click “Gather.”
- Choose the correct site.
- Log in with that site’s username & password.
- Choose profile (if you have more than one).
- Enter range (recommended to start with a range of 40 cM to maximum cM).
- Click ONLY “Gather ICW.”
- Click “Gather DNA Data.”
Now that the Client has gathered your data, you are ready to use the CLM tool.
Using the CLM Tool

- Go to the “Autosomal” tab.
- Click on “Collins Leeds Method (CLM).”
- Choose DNA kit (person).
- Set range & other thresholds.
- Click on “Run Grouping.”
- If you chose “Open HTML When Done” it should open; you can also view both the HTML and Excel files in the folder where you designated the files to be saved.
