It’s my birthday, and I thought I’d share this photo from my 3rd birthday party. It was taken in front of my childhood home in Kansas. The older woman in the photo is my grandmother, Hazel, who died when I was 5. I only have a few photo with her.
I’m in the red dress on the far right, and my older sister is standing next to me. The other three children are a cousin and two friends.

Marian, Happy belated birthday to you, too! I remember being so proud to share a birthday with George Washington when I was younger. When I was in elementary school one year, we made these little ceramic sculptures. Mine was of George Washington, though I don't remember if everyone made him or now. But, I sure was proud to share his birthday!
Happy belated birthday, Dana. Isn't it wonderful to not just have photos of our ancestors but those where we were with them? Sometimes it even sparks a memory.
Yes. Sadly, my memories aren't that strong and I barely remember my grandmother. But, I'm thankful for the photos I have of her, and especially with her!

Do you remember the day?I don't believe I have a single photo of me and my grandmother because she didn't like to be and rarely allowed herself to be photographed. It's sad because she was a great influence in my life.
Thank you, Nancy! Unfortunately, I do not remember the day. But, I will ask my mom and big sister what they remember of it. Maybe they can stir up some memories, or at least add to the story.That's too bad that you don't have any photos with your grandmother! Maybe some aunts or uncles do? Even if she didn't like to be photographed. I hope someday you find one, but glad you have the memories!
