    Hi Dana,

Watched your webinar. Very informative and easy to follow.

Have two questions. First you mentioned after working with your 400 to 90 centimorgan matches to possibly expand with matches below 90 centimorgans. What is the lowest you would recommend, or does it depend on my particular matches?

Second, if you have four siblings all tested on Ancestry is there a way to combine them to one spreadsheet? Or must they be worked individually and then studied for clues? As you know, each sibling can have matches the others don’t unless they are true second cousins.

    Thank you!

    • Hi, Susan. I’m glad you were able to attend! As far as the 90 cM, that’s just the initial lower recommendation. It helps keep things manageable. Without it, most people would end up with a lot more clusters and not be able to (potentially) see their four grandparent lines.

As far as siblings, similar to the Q&A about testing at multiple sites, I recommend you do each sibling separately. But then it is a great idea to create one master spreadsheet!

      Hope this helps!

  • Thank you so much for this webinar! I was one of the attendees and have been buried in DNA matches ever since. I’ve already made two amazing finds as a result of being able to filter out my grandma’s MASSIVE family (who I think have all have done DNA tests on Ancestry), and there were two little gems for my grandfather’s family. I have struggled with his lines and now I’m off in the right direction. Just super – much appreciated!

    • Hi, Jessica. That’s wonderful news!!! That’s exactly the kind of case I used to create this method. I’m glad you’ve found it helpful and are finding those gems! 🙂 Thanks for writing and letting me know.
