Where I’ve Been
Hi everyone! These past few months have been a whirlwind—between learning to create and edit YouTube content, launching a newsletter, and developing in-person presentations, I’ve had my hands full! Add some website technical challenges (which we’re still working through), and you can see why I’ve been quiet here on the blog. (For example, I’m still not receiving notices of your comments!)
Exciting DNA Research Progress
The best news? I’m actively pursuing DNA research again, and I’ve recently broken through several brick walls! I’ve already shared one success story in this video, where I share how DNA helped crack the case. And I have more breakthrough stories coming soon!
Leeds Method Video Series
I’m excited to share my growing collection of Leeds Method videos:
1. A step-by-step walkthrough where you can watch me work through the entire process
2. What to do next with your clusters once you’ve created them
3. A fascinating look at how AI could transform DNA match sorting
4. An exploration of AI’s potential in analyzing Leeds Method charts
While the first two videos provide practical guidance for working with DNA matches, the AI-focused videos showcase some incredible cutting-edge possibilities in genetic genealogy. Even if you’re not ready to implement AI in your research, these videos offer an exciting glimpse into what’s possible! After seeing my live presentation on AI and the Leeds Method, Steve Little and Mark Thompson shared on their The Family History AI Show podcast:
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better demonstration of using Artifacts as a content creation tool outside of coding. She didn’t just do a fabulous job of showing how to create a Leeds chart with Artifacts, but she also updated it several times as she went through the process. It was very easy to see how that technique that she used could be applied to any kind of spreadsheet or any kind of document for that matter.” Mark goes on to say, “Everybody should watch this even if you’re not a genetic genealogist, but just as someone who uses a computer to make documents and spreadsheets and presentations, and watch how she uses artifacts to do that, and you will find applications even if it’s not the Leeds Method to use this workspace called artifacts.”

I’ve created a free Leeds Method resource to help you get started—you can get instant access HERE! Plus, my weekly newsletter keeps you updated with my latest video releases, upcoming speaking events, DNA research tips, and free resources. Join our community HERE. It’s my way of sharing everything I learn with our wonderful genealogy community.
